Definition of Wolfe Wave
It is a naturally occurring trading pattern present in all financial markets. The pattern is composed of five waves showing supply and demand and a fight towards an equilibrium price. These patterns can develop over short- and long-term time frames such as minutes or weeks and are used to predict where a price is heading and when it will get there.
Anatomy of a Wolfe Wave
If identified correctly, Wolfe waves can be used to accurately predict the scope (equilibrium price) of the underlying security and to anticipate price reversals which are likely to cause big price movements.
To identify Wolfe waves, they must have the following characteristics.
o    Waves 3-4 must stay within the channel created by 1-2
o    Wave 1-2 equals waves 3-4
o    Wave 4 is within the channel created by waves 1-2
o    There is regular time between all waves
o    Wave 5 exceeds trendline created by waves 1 and 3
How to trade using Wolfe Waves
Wolfe Waves are amazingly easy to trade! The trade must be taken when the price closes above the trendline created by waves 1 and 3, and the last point of the wave should be used as a protective stop-loss.
The PZ Wolfe Waves indicator implements a trading filter which delays the signal until a price-based breakout takes place in the direction of the wave, making trades 99% deterministic and increasing the profit factor.
Because the indicator uses tops and bottoms to draw wolfe waves, the last leg of the wave must always repaint. However, the trading signal is based on the breakout of the trendline created by waves 1 and 3 and therefore trading decisions are deterministic and almost never repaint.

EURUSD is sliding on this Renko Chart

This morning the EURUSD pair is down considerably after rising earlier.

You can see on this Renko chart that price has fallen from a high of 1.1309 to 1.1258.

Renko Trading Strategy Eurusd August 28, 2015

The fall in the EURUSD today may be related to a softening rate of inflation in Europe as well as today’s meeting of the European Central Bank. There is some feeling that there will be Quantitative Easing proposed which may have considerable effect on the EURUSD.

How To Build a Forex RenkoTrading Strategy to Yield 40 Pips Every Day - forex trading practice account

How To Build a Forex RenkoTrading Strategy to Yield 40 Pips Every Day ~ forex trading practice account

As traders, we all want to have a positive cash flow, we all want to make enough money to pay for our time and work, here is a Forex Renko Trading Strategy that will help to reach that goal.

What we need is a consistent strategy, a time frame in which we are going to be at the screen to do our trading and the discipline to stick at it until we succeed.

We have to know, also, that we can not get every move in the market place. It is folly to chase every move or every trend. We can only get the moves that our strategy will point out.

I have a Forex Renko Trading Strategy method to help us to achieve a reasonable amount of profits daily.

I will lay it out in simple form, hopefully so that people can understand it and see the simplicity and be able to execute successfully.

For this exercise we will be using Metatrader 4 and setting up some Renko charts.

I will briefly cover how to get the Renko charts built.

First we will open one minute charts for several currency pairs, the majors, to start with. Of course you have your personal preferences as to which pairs you like and feel free to choose. In addition to those, open a one minute chart for the Dax index.

On to each of those charts place the EA Renko 3.4 and set the bar size to 10 pips, except for the DAX which could be about 50 pips.

This action will build an offline chart for each of those instruments, open those and shrink the one minute charts.

Now, on the M2 offline charts. for each one you are going to want to change each to a line chart and go into the properties for each chart and change the line  to have no color...

Now add the Heiken Ashi bars to each chart. and now we have our work charts almost set up. You will have 5 or 8 charts ready to go.

The next step is to get the indicators on the chart, the ones we are going to use to detect our entries.

Configure your chart the same as the chart in this post, the CCI SlingShot;

You need the two CCI in the same lower chart. Have a look at that post and be sure to grasp that simple method.

Do the same for all of your offline charts, perhaps make a template after the first one and apply that template to all the rest..

I think you are seeing how this system is really simple.. We are going to trade slingshots, they happen frequently and they are so easy to spot on a chart.

Now that we have the charts set up, one more thing to do.

Have a look at this post and review the 200 Trendline Break entry.  Study this one carefully.

Get used to spotting this one as it is the entry that will help you with  finding a trend change.

So far, you have a trend change entry and also a continuation move entry.... in other words, when something is moving, you can capture every part of the move, and if you are careful and disciplined you are going to do very well on each move on each pair.

One more thing we have to study before we have this concept.

Have a look at this post about CCI Divergence. Study the diagram and learn to mark this divergence both long and short. This is the warning for a pending trend change in many cases.

Now you have two patterns to enter with and a divergence tool. and nice clean charts.

You can shrink the charts down a bit and probably can watch  quite a few charts ion this way.

While the title of this article mentions 40 pips every day, I know from personal experience that this setup will give you a lot more than 40, especially if you are watching the DAX.

I am not sure if there is a simpler trading system than this, certainly the trades show themselves clearly and you have the indicator to give you precise entries.

I caution you against adding much to the charts, perhaps a 50 moving average, other than that leave the chart clean.

Chart clutter causes confusion and will help to make mistakes.

Please be sure to use a stop loss with every entry, that is most important!

Enjoy!

Dollar trims gains as US data disappoints - forex trading trends tips

Dollar trims gains as US data disappoints ~ forex trading trends tips

On Friday the dollar declined versus its rivals, after data signaled the U.S. economy grew at a slower rate than expected in the fourth quarter, driving fresh concerns over the strength of the recovery.

The U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis said in a report that fourth quarter gross domestic product rose 2.2%, in line with a preliminary estimate but below expectations for a growth rate of 2.4%.

Later in the day, the U.S. is expected to issue the revised reading of the University of Michigan consumer sentiment index.

EUR/USD was down 0.20% to 1.0864, just off session lows of 1.0801.

Sentiment on the euro remained fragile, as Greece failed in a bid on Wednesday to secure a quick cash payment from the euro zone rescue fund to help stave off potential bankruptcy next month. The Greek authorities had appealed for the European Financial Stability Facility to return €1.2 billion it said it had overpaid when it transferred bonds intended for bank recapitalization this month. By next Monday Athens is expected to provide a detailed list of proposed reforms to its eurozone creditors.

The pound remained higher, with GBP/USD up 0.38% to 1.4909.

Demand for the British currency was firmer after Bank of England Governor Mark Carney said that the central banks next move on interest rates would be upward.

Earlier Friday, the Nationwide Building Society reported that U.K. house prices rose 0.1% this month, disappointing expectations for a 0.2% gain, after a 0.1% downtick in February.

Elsewhere, the dollar edged lower against the yen, with USD/JPY easing 0.08% to 119.08 and remained moderately higher against the Swiss franc, with USD/CHF up 0.10% to 0.9639.

In Japan, official data earlier showed that household spending rose 0.8% in February, exceeding expectations for a 0.5% gain, after a 0.3% fall the previous month. Another report showed that consumer price inflation in Japan climbed at an annualized rate of 2.0% in February, compared to expectations for 2.1% and down from 2.2% in January.

Figures also indicated that Japans retail sales dropped at an annualized rate of 1.8% last month, confounding expectations for a 1.5% decline, after a 2.0% drop in January.

The Australian and New Zealand remained broadly weaker, with AUD/USD retreating 0.38% to 0.7799 and NZD/USD shedding 0.23% to 0.7583. Meanwhile, USD/CAD held steady at 1.2487.

The commodity-exposed Canadian dollar also weakened due to dropping oil prices, as U.S. data overshadowed fears over a supply disruption in the Middle East following news Saudi Arabia launched air strikes in Yemen this week to counter Iran-backed Houthi rebels.

Using the Magic Bands Trading Strategy on Daily Charts - best forex trading advice

Using the Magic Bands Trading Strategy on Daily Charts ~ best forex trading advice

The Magic Bands trading strategy can be applied to daily or weekly charts as well as scalping charts.

It needs only a minor change which is not completely necessary. There is another indicator called the ribbon which adds a bit of colour to the chart as well as denoting momentum. The ribbon expands as momentum builds and that may be useful for some traders as they inspect their charts to look for entries.

The chart may also be enhanced by the Gator oscillator which shows the momentum, that is optional and is not necessary to use this trading system effectively.

Of course, on a longer chart a person will want to include a trailing stop as the position may last for several days or weeks as shown in the USDJPY chart below. You can see that the long entry lasted for several weeks.

Here is a chart of the Dax Index and on it you can see some great entries as that index has been climbing steadily for several months until this past summer. Once again this simple trading strategy has been able to bring significant profits with a minimum of maintenance to the portfolio.

There are many Forex pairs and Stocks and Indexes that have long trends and are quite well suited to this trading strategy. It requires only a few minutes a day to review a sizable portfolio to do what ever maintenance and entries are required.

To locate instruments that may be suitable for this type of system a person needs only do a scan for trending stocks or currency pairs and there are many to choose from. Probably those with some volatility would appeal to many investors.

The indicator settings  can be found on this page Magic Bands Scalp Trading Strategy along with some other information.

One more chart that I have here for you to glance at is that of Sweet Light Crude, you can easily see that a trend following  strategy would have reaped excellent profits in the past eighteen months.

Be sure to use a trailing stop with this system as the markets are completely unpredictable.

Good Trading..!

5 And 13 Exponential Moving Average Profitable Forex Strategy - forex trading tips and tricks

5 And 13 Exponential Moving Average Profitable Forex Strategy ~ forex trading tips and tricks

Strategy

Take from Fibonacci sequence numbers 5 and 13 as the parameters for moving averages. When you wish to determine the price movement, the time for opening and closing the positions, use Exponential
Moving Average (EMA) 5 and 13 indicators and follow these rules:
Open the position when EMA5 has crossed EMA13.

Click image for larger version Name: Untitled-1.jpg Views: 0 Size: 44.4 KB ID: 12333

Buy when EMA5 has crossed EMA13 from below.
Sell when EMA5 crosses EMA13 from above. Wait until the time interval (selected by you) closes. If by this time EMA5 and EMA13 have crossed each other, enter the market at the price of opening the following time interval.

Click image for larger version Name: Untitled-2.jpg Views: 0 Size: 36.3 KB ID: 12334

When opening the position – at the same time – you should place stop loss order below/above EMA13.
Close the position in case:
a) the closing price showed crossing or equality of EMA5 and EMA13;
b) the prices reached the level of your stop order.
These rules can be applied to all time interval. However the best results are achieved with one-hour
charts.
The following picture illustrates the rules.

To improve the results of your Forex trades, use these crucial rules: Place your stop orders at 50 pips level from EMA13, binding this level to EMA13 movements; of course, if the market trend goes as it was expected.
This tactics will give you the possibility to avoid non-predictable market movements.

Click image for larger version Name: Untitled-3.jpg Views: 0 Size: 35.6 KB ID: 12335

Do not open the position if there is a gap of more than 100 pips between the opening price and the level of stop loss order. This rule will protect you from big market movements which take place during a very short time interval (see below image)

Click image for larger version Name: Untitled-4.jpg Views: 0 Size: 34.6 KB ID: 12336

Do not open the position when there is only 1 pip between EMA5 and EMA13. Wait until the time interval is closed with more sufficient difference between EMA5 and EMA13 (see below image)

Click image for larger version Name: Untitled-5.jpg Views: 0 Size: 34.0 KB ID: 12337

You should set up for yourself a certain maximum sum which you are ready to lose on every trade (risk percentage). It should not be more than 10% of the total sum on your account.

Renko Trading Strategy - forex beginners algorithmic trading systems

Renko Trading Strategy ~ forex beginners algorithmic trading systems

Renko Bars are not the most popular trading strategy but they are quite effective for filtering out the choppy periods and when used judiciously can be quite profitable.

As an example, I have two charts of EURUSD from this morning, one just prior to a sudden drop and one taken a few minutes after the drop. You can see how the chart worked well for me using the Awesome Oscillator for entry and the TSIOsc for exit. I also watch the TSIOSC for warning of a pending shift in trend.

Traders use different bar sizes for their Renko charts and that is a matter of preference. Some people like a 2 pip bar and others use up to 50 pips, depending on how often they want to trade and be at the screen watching charts.

Some trading platforms have a Renko chart built in as an indicator and many do not, meaning that a custom indicator has to be used. Sometimes in the case of a custom indicator there is quite a demand for machine resources which limits the number of charts that can be used .

There are custom indicators for both Metatrader4 and Metatrader5.

Renko trading is a great strategy in that a person can see clearly the entries and place stop losses that work well based on the size of the Renko bars on that particular chart.

I have not found any trailing stop expert advisers that will work on a Renko chart, they have to be attached to the regular chart for that currency pair.

Nor have I found a trade manager that will work on a Renko chart, again the trade manager has to be attached to a regular currency pair.

Those are a couple things that make trading with Renko bars a little awkward.

However, even with a couple negatives the Renko Trading Strategy can be enjoyable and profitable.

I will add one more chart, a 40 pip move that just occurred, actually the move was for a bit more than 40 pips.

9 Currency ETFs That May Influence Your Trading Strategy - free forex trading account with real money

9 Currency ETFs That May Influence Your Trading Strategy ~ free forex trading account with real money

Many Forex Traders and Investors have a sizable interest in what may be happening to various currencies regarding their trading strategy. Today I will gather some information on a group of ETFs related to several of the heavily traded currencies.

  • Currencies are volatile today and will be more volatile as weeks pass.
  • Countries are manipulating their currencies to gain advantages and export markets.
  • Politicians are exploiting interest rates and QE programs to stimulate their economies

The following are the Guggenheim CurrencyShares Trust Vehicles:

Australian Dollar (FXA)
Canadian Dollar (FXC)
Euro (FXE)
Japanese Yen (FXY)
British Pound (FXB)
Swedish Krona (FXS)
Swiss Franc (FXF)
Singapore Dollar (FXSG)
Chinese Renminbi (FXCH)

As you can see, this list covers the important and most heavily traded currencies exclusive of the US Dollar.

In another article I will explore the relationships of each of these currencies with the US Dollar.

Here is a chart from ETFScreen.comoutlining a comparison of the Relative Strength factor for the past quarter. Of course, as each day passes there will be changes in Relative Strength factor and the order in the list will change.

This next chart illustrates a comparison in percent change for the past several months, I am assuming that the down slope is closely related to the climb in the US Dollar.

This chart, from etf.com illustrates the fund flows into each of these ETFs for the past month.

Of course we want to know what is in the future for currencies and that is not easy to know, there have not been many successful forecasters. However, there is one school of thought that we can consult and that is based on past performance.

Point and Figure Charts are not the holy grail, however they have a good track record and for this purpose they will cast some light on future direction.

Here is the P&F chart for FXA, the Australian Dollar Trust, I point out the Bearish Price Objective.

Instead of posting a P&F Chart in here, I will list the Price Objective (as at January 23,2015) for each Currency ETF.(Source Stockcharts.com)

Australian Dollar (FXA) 70.00
Canadian Dollar (FXC) 84.00
Euro (FXE) 86.00
Japanese Yen (FXY) 62.00
British Pound (FXB) 210.00
Swedish Krona (FXS 82.00
Swiss Franc (FXF) 151.00
Singapore Dollar (FXSG) -
Chinese Renminbi (FXCH) -

(FXSG and FXCH unavailable)

I will be updating the information on each of these currencies and ETFs in coming days.

Today was a quiet one for the Gold trading strategy. As you will see on this 60 minute chart, Gold was lingering around the daily pivot for the duration.

Because there was little activity and little in the way of news, most traders have avoided Gold for today.

That gives us a chance to think about the longer term for Gold. Below is a Point and Figure chart and the long term price objective, as you will see is $1,050.00 indicating that a further easing of the price may be in order.

CCI Trading Strategy as At August 13 (updated) ~ forex trading account singapore

Using CCI For Some Simple Entries On Today’s Charts.

CCI Divergence
Here is a one hour chart of EURUSD showing some Bullish Divergence

image

and the Daily USDCAD showing Bearish Divergence

image

Now we can apply the CCI 200 Trend Line break:

image

image

You can see that the entries are quite clear cut and also accurate.

I will look for a couple examples of CCI Slingshot entries from today’s charts.

Here is CADJPY daily. You can see the slingshot here, the CCI 14 has risen to the zero line while the CCI 6 has climbed to the 100 level.

image

On the GBPCAD Daily chart is a great example of the CCI Slingshot. If you check the price bars you will see that this is a great continuation entry that yielded quite a few pips.

image

CCI is a great scalping tool, you can use it on the fast time frames as well as the slower time frames. It takes a few hours of screen time to get your eyes used to picking out the entries.

CCI Divergence is quite useful and often very easy to see on a chart, particularly if you are used to drawing trend lines.

There is a few examples from the charts this morning, I know there are many more available for some profitable trade entries.

The new week is about to test our trading strategies. Governments will be making their moves, traders will be in and out of the market and who knows what is coming for Gold.

There are a lot of opinions, Gold is going to $5,000 and Gold is dropping to $800, I will post some opinions further down in this post.

First I will post a couple charts, Ichimoku Kinko Hiyo charts, reason being is, they have something to tell us about support and resistance.

Here is the daily chart of XAUUSD

It is easy to see that the is going to be resistance at the Ichimoku Cloud. It appears that the Cloud becomes narrower as days pass, maybe resistance to a price rise will lessen.

The weekly chart is next.

Once again we see the Ichimoku Cloud creating resistance although the Cloud is much thinner than on the daily chart.

Finally, the Monthly chart.

It took a couple months for price to break down through the Cloud and then finally support was broken. The November bar has a long wick, showing that the bulls are making progress....

BBMA Forex Strategy - forex trading tips youtube

BBMA Forex Strategy ~ forex trading tips youtube

BBMA or Bolinger Band + Moving Average forex system is a pretty popular strategy these days. Many traders use this strategy and they find it’s quite helpful to predict the price movements. Mainly to predict the big trend and find where and to where prices will move.

This forex strategy can be used on any time frame but It’s recommended used on timeframe H4 and H1 to know the big trend anda use M15 for make entry decision. On pair EURUSD, GBPUSD or USDCHF.

Setup the Indicators on your chart

  1. Add Bolinger Band Period 20, Deviation 2
  2. Add Bolinger Band Period 20, Deviation 1
  3. Add Moving Average Period 5, MA method : Linear Weighted, Color : RED, Apply to : High
  4. Add Moving Average Period 5, MA method : Linear Weighted, Color : PURPLE, Apply to : Low
  5. Add Moving Average Period 55, MA method : Expotinential, Color : Aqua, Apply to : Close

How to trade
Determine the big trend by looking the Moving Average (MA 55) on timeframe H4 and H1, look if the candle prices is below candlestick or above. If theyre below of MA 55 then we are going to find any chance to sell on TF M15. And vice versa if theyre above of MA 55 then were going to find any chance to buy on TF M15.
In time frame M15 the best signal for entry when the candlestick touch upper or lower bollingger band, Especially when you see good signs for candel reverse like doji or long shadow.

It’s very recommended to use this forex strategy using your demo account until you familiar with it at least 3 months. After that you can go with your live account. Happy trading…!

Heiken Ashi Smoothed Renko Trading Strategy - forex trading account india

Heiken Ashi Smoothed Renko Trading Strategy ~ forex trading account india

Another Simple Renko Trading Strategy using the Heiken Ashi Smoothed Indicator.

Today I will demonstrate what is perhaps the simplest of the Renko trading strategies which uses free indicators and gives a good return on a regular basis.

For this strategy we need a couple free indicators and a free Expert Adviser.
First of all, I set up the expert adviser Renko 3.4 on a one minute chart of the EURUSD and use a pip count of 5. This will allow some scalping each day.

Next I open the ‘Offline Charts’ and open the EURUSD M2 which is the result of the expert adviser.

Setting up the actual Renko Chart

Once we have the Renko chart opened we will change it to a line chart and then change the line to ‘no colour’ so that it will not interfere with the colours of the Renko bars.

Next we can attach the Heiken Ashi bars indicator and then the Heiken Ashi Smoothed indicator. Again, these are freely available by doing a search on the internet. I suggest that you adjust the colors of the Heiken Ashi price bars so that it is easy to distinguish the price bars from the Heiken Ashi Smoothed indicator.

Let’s get to the Trade Entries

Looking at the chart, it will be easy to see where the entries are. We will wait until there is a close above or below the Heiken Ashi Smoothed and enter our trade. Screen time and practise are required to get these entries properly. A trader has to learn to use his/her discretion as the market is continually changing.

There are no short cuts, we all have to spend a certain  amount of time practising our skill, and that may be thousands of hours until we get it right.

One more thing we can do to this chart to make decision making even more simple…… we can add a moving average line to guide us as to which way to enter. When price is above the line we enter long trades only and when price is below the moving average then we enter short trades only.

I have added a 50 ma to this chart to simplify the decision as to long or short trades.

One proviso – it makes good sense to stay out of the market when that moving average is flat.!

Enjoy..
